Oluwashola Kushimo is a certified online mathematics tutor and data scientist with an HND in Statistics, who combines analytical rigor with clear, student-centered instruction. With extensive experience teaching mathematics from lower secondary through early senior secondary level (ages 11-16), he helps learners build strong foundations, confidence, and exam readiness, in line with international standards and curricula.
How I teach
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe every student can succeed in mathematics when it is taught clearly, patiently and with purpose. Many learners struggle not because maths is too hard, but because a gap was never filled or a concept was never made to make sense. My first step is always to find out where a student really is, so I can build from there instead of rushing ahead.
My background in statistics and data science shapes how I teach. I break complex topics into small, logical steps, connect them with worked examples and real-world problems, and track progress so each lesson moves the student forward. I use mistakes as information, not failure, and I encourage students to explain their thinking, because understanding is what lasts beyond the exam.
Above all, I aim to build confidence. When students see that they can solve problems on their own, their attitude to maths changes. My goal is simple: Mathematics, Made Simple. Confidence, Made Certain.
