Mrs Omowunmi Funmilayo Oyepena

My name is Omowunmi Oyepena, a graduate of Yoruba and Literature with 11 years of teaching experience, including six years of teaching Yoruba online. I am a passionate and dedicated tutor who teaches children, teenagers, and adults, particularly beginners and intermediate learners. My goal is to help learners develop confidence in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing Yoruba while appreciating Yoruba culture, values, and traditions. My lessons cover Yoruba greetings, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, sentence construction, reading, writing, everyday conversations, proverbs, and cultural expressions. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each learner’s age, ability, and learning pace, creating a friendly and supportive environment where learners feel comfortable practising and making mistakes. I am patient, creative, encouraging, and committed to helping every learner succeed. I provide constructive feedback, encourage consistent practice, and make learning practical and culturally enriching. My passion is to help learners communicate confidently in Yoruba, reconnect with their heritage, and develop a lasting appreciation for the language and culture.
