I am an English Language graduate, TEFL-certified educator, and online tutor with over five years of teaching experience across Early Years, primary education, and English language instruction. My professional training includes Montessori education, EYFS, Early Childhood Development, and Curriculum Design and Planning. I have worked with learners across different age groups, abilities, and curricula, supporting them in developing their reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, and examination skills. My experience spans classroom teaching, leading classes, and delivering online Business English lessons to professionals. I bring this range of experience into my work with children, combining sound teaching principles with carefully planned lessons and appropriate learning resources. I am particularly interested in helping learners strengthen foundational skills, overcome learning difficulties, and develop the independence they need to succeed both in and outside the classroom.
How I teach
Understanding the learner comes first when i teach. Before deciding what or how to teach, I pay attention to what a child already knows, where they struggle, how they respond to different explanations, and what support they need to move forward. I use this understanding to plan personalized lessons with clear learning objectives, structured materials, and activities suited to the child's age, ability, curriculum, and learning pace. I don't assume that one teaching method works for every child. If an explanation isn't working, I adjust my approach, break the concept into smaller steps, and find another way to make it accessible.
My lessons are purposeful, interactive, and carefully structured. I use guided practice, questioning, educational games, visual aids, reading activities, quizzes, and real-life examples to keep learners actively involved rather than passively listening. Children have opportunities to apply what they learn, explain their thinking, and practice independently as their confidence develops. I also monitor progress, revisit concepts that need reinforcement, and adapt subsequent lessons based on each learner's performance. Whether the goal is to close learning gaps, improve literacy, keep up with schoolwork, or prepare for examinations, my focus is on building genuine understanding and helping each child make consistent, meaningful progress.
