Samuel is an English tutor offering KS2 and KS3 English, 11+ preparation, GCSE English preparation and IELTS PREP. He helps learners strengthen their reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, writing and communication skills through clear, structured lessons. His aim is to build confidence alongside subject knowledge, supporting each learner’s schoolwork, exam preparation and wider use of English.
How I teach
I begin by identifying each learner’s strengths, areas for improvement and learning goals. My lessons follow a clear, step-by-step approach: I explain the skill, demonstrate it with worked examples, guide learners through practice, and then encourage them to work independently. I use engaging texts, targeted questions and writing tasks to make learning purposeful and accessible. For 11+, GCSE and IELTS preparation, I build in relevant exam-style practice, time-management strategies and opportunities to review and refine answers. Throughout, I encourage questions and create a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
